Obituary for Bishop Roy R. Morrison
Bishop Roy Richardson Morrison of olde St, Petersburg, departed this life on November 14, 2017. He was born on December 3, 1931 and was the son of the late Frank and Ethel Witcher Morrison. He was married to the late Ardie Pearl Wilkerson. He joined the Riceville Baptist Church in the 50’s. Bishop Morrison was the founder and the Pastor of God’s Mission of Faith Holiness Church on Harrison Street, Petersburg for over 30 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 daughters Arnitha Morrison Henry and Gaynell Morrison; 5 brothers, William, Jim, Roosevelt, Ulyesse and Boat Morrison; 4 sisters, Annie Mae, Bell, Mattie and Hattie. He leaves to cherish his memories one son Deacon Roy Morrison Jr. (Nancy); five grandchildren, Nicole Henry Smith, Derrick Wayne Henry, Kevin Lee Henry, Brittany Michelle Haley and Franklin LaTravis Haley; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends including devoted friends Evangelist Thelma Stevens, Evangelist Tracey Morgan and Elder Wayne McFarland. Funeral Services will be held on Monday November 20, 2017 at 12 noon from Gethsemane Apostolic Church of God, 1020 Halifax St., Petersburg. Elder Eddie Smith will officiate. Burial will be in the Walker Family Cemetery, Dinwiddie.. Viewing will take place on Sunday from 12 noon to 6PM at the W. L. Fields Funeral Home, 10814 Doyle Blvd. Mckenney, VA.
